The Tower of Terror (Pokémon)-Toon-O-Ween 2016 Part 5

Hello my name is Evan A.K.A. The Animated Critic. Well we finally did it. The end of Toon-O-Ween. After the way last year went, what with me only doing 4 parts and cancelling the final 2, I have to say I'm pretty proud of myself for pulling this off. Even with all the crap going on in my life right now. Either way there's been a bit of an unintended theme prevailing this Toon-O-Ween. Getting over fear. Fear of talking to people, fear of yourself, and now a fear of ghost. Ladies and gentlemen let's dig into the finale of Toon-O-Ween 2016 and the first Toon-O-Ween anime review. Let's dig into The Tower of Terror from the Pokémon anime. For those who don't know I'm a major Pokémon fan. It's one of my favorite game franchises ever. I'm not as in to the anime unfortunately. I did watch it as a kid, but I gradually grew out of it. I'm in the middle of re-watching the series though and so far it's been a fun time. Sure it's goofy, but it is entertaining.

This episode takes place right after the last one. Pretty much all you need to know about the previous episode though is Ash lost against Sabrina, the psychic type gym leader of Saffron City. Who in the original games is a complete pain in the butt to deal with. Mostly because Psychic Pokémon were extremely over powered. I mean in the original games Psychic was only weak to Ghost and Bug. Ghost and Bug Type moves weren't too common to come across before the battle with Sabrina. I mean not any ones that will do you any good anyway. Ash decides he's gotta catch a ghost type Pokémon. Of course there's no better place to look than Lavender Town. The anime version is not as scary as the game version. In the game there's always this creepy music following you around town. Not to mention it's literally the location of a Pokémon grave yard. Sure further games would dive more into Pokémon death, but the originals (and their remakes) were the only one to tackle that topic for quite some time. Because of this, and some of the other oddities that happen in the town, there's a variety of Lavender Town creepy myths, theories, and stories. I'm not going to go in too much detail about them, but a lot of the stories are interesting and legitimately frightening. I would recommend looking into them. There's the myth about the music causing people to commit suicide, there's Buried Alive, the Gary's Raticate theory, White Hand, and so many other good ones. I have to say I love the Pokémon fan base and the stories they tell using these beloved characters. Anyway needless to say Lavender Town is a bit scary. It's not that scary in the anime though. Heck they don't even go to the Pokémon graveyard, just a cliche haunted house, and that's really all they do in this town. Anyway because Misty and Brock are pansies they wait outside for Ash. Oh yeah and Team Rocket is there as well, but they really are just shoved into the episode. They don't have much affect on anything. So I'll probably just ignore them. I mean in all fairness they have some funny moments, but to the overall plot they're rather useless. Ash and Pikachu eventually stumble upon the Ghost trio. Gastly, Haunter and Gengar. They don't seem to want to scare Ash and the gang but just to have fun with them. Mess around with them a bit. Eventually they pull Ash and Pikachu's soul out of their bodies and Ash doesn't even seem to care that he's seeing his dead body right in front of him. It doesn't even matter. They goof off for a bit, and the Ghost gang reveals that they've had this house to themselves for awhile and had no one to play with. Ash feels bad but he has to continue his quest so he can't stay. He does eventually return to his body. By the way Misty and Brock did find the dead bodies and it is pretty heartwarming seeing how much they were worried for Ash. Anyway the episode ends with the trio leaving to attempt the battle with Sabrina again. This time however Haunter tags along, and we see Gastly and Gengar playing with Team Rocket....of course against their will, but it is pretty funny. This episode is nothing too special, but it is pure fun. If you think about it not every cartoon has to have deep characterization, or an amazing plot. They just have to be fun and entertaining and that's what Pokémon is. A fun and entertaining little series about friendship and teamwork. This episode is just amazingly fun to watch. So yeah I recommend it.
By the way did you know this episode was banned after 9/11 simply because of it's title. Even though the episode has nothing to do with the Twin Towers or terrorist. Anyway it still is an enjoyable episode. It's a bit campy and cheesy and full of narm, but I love it. It's just fun. Especially the Ghost Gang, they're just a blast. Overall pretty good episode. Oh, and before I forget Happy 20th anniversary Pokémon. May you continue to bring fun times in the next 2 decades and beyond.
But that's Toon-O-Ween 2016. It's finally over. We've been through a lot this year.
Houses that have come to life.

The Flying Dutchman

Evil video game girls that possess animatronics.

Dealing with not being perfect.

And of course extremely fun ghost.

This may be the second Toon-O-Ween but it's the first one that's actually having some sort of ending. And you know what I'm proud of myself for pulling through and doing this. Well I think I'll end this off. Next year is our 3rd annual Toon-O-Ween. What do I have planned. Well next year we'll see a movie or two, another anime, and of course a season 3 SpongeBob episode. (Clams, Krab Borg, or Born Again Krabs. Can't decide which one.)
And of course thank you guys for reading these 5 blog post over the course of the last month. With that said now we can get back to a regular schedule. There's a certain Sofia the First episode I've been meaning to tackle for awhile.
But at the same time I have a bunch of shows to catch up on that I'll also review. I'm also behind on Flip Flappers so I might have to catch up on that. November's going to be booked isn't it. Not to mention this whole ghost problem I'm dealing with. Well, whatever. I'll see you guys later.
Peace.

(Meanwhile at SouthEastern High School.)

Daniel: "Where could that boy be. Perhaps he's in the lunchroom."
......
Daniel: "Ah-ha there he is. Hey Evan."

Evan: Oh, what's up. Do you want a seat?"

Daniel: "Nah, I'm good. I just wanted to stop by and see what a modern day school is like."

Evan: "Well it's not much. Just Seven crappy hours wasted listening to a teacher speak."

Daniel: "Sounds boring."

Evan: "Very."

Daniel: "So I notice your in a pretty big table all by yourself. Are your friends still in the lunch line or something?"

Evan: "Oh, no. My friends are at that table right next to us."

Daniel: "Why aren't you with them?"

Evan: "I prefer to just sit alone and work. I've gotten so much done. I got Toon-O-Ween done and started on my next review...."

Daniel: "Well since you got so much stuff done why don't you take a break and hang with your friends."

Evan: "Well....you see. I'm not very good at....normal human interaction."

Daniel: "What do you mean? You talk to me just fine."

Evan: "Well I've gotten to know you over the course of the past few weeks."

Daniel: "Then get to know them better."

Evan: *sigh* "Wish I could, but..."

Daniel: "You're scared aren't ya. Weird, wasn't it you who told me that I shouldn't be afraid in situations like this. That the outcome may be unpredictable, but you have to try."

Evan: *sigh* "You're right. I am being a bit hypocritical. OK I'll try..."

???: "Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!"

Evan: "What was that?"

Sam: "Evan, buddy. Why is there a green figure talking to you."

Evan: "Uh-Oh this can't be good."

Daniel: "I didn't think they could see me."

Evan: "I didn't either."

Daniel: "What do we do."

Evan: "I say we only have one option. We should probably run."

Daniel: "Good strategy."

And so the two ran out of the school, back to Evan's house. All the while the students of SouthEastern were confused on the events that just went down. Was that really a ghost? They had no other choice, but to believe it. After all they saw it right in front of them. When Evan returned home all he could think is how screwed he was going be. He began to worry just what they would do to him or Daniel.

Perfect (Courage the Cowardly Dog)-Toon-O-Ween Part 4

Hello my name is Evan A.K.A. The Animated Critic. I've been reliving a lot of nostalgia this Toon-O-Ween. We covered a classic Spongebob episode and next time we're gonna be looking at an episode of Pokémon. And now we have Courage the Cowardly Dog. I use to love this show. I didn't watch it as religiously as other shows at the time, but when it was on I would happily watch. It had a perfect blend of scares and humour. I will admit as a kid I was a major wuss. Heck admittedly I still am. I get scared easily. Heck, the movie Monster House use to scare me. But I still watched Courage despite being a whimpering little pansy. It was a fun show and I was excited to re-watch it. Unfortunately I only got to re-watch a few episodes. And because I'm behind on Toon-O-Ween I didn't have enough time to watch more for this review. So we're just gonna go with the episode Perfect. Which is really only known for one thing. I know many of you would've liked me to go with a more horror eccentric episode, but whatever. I'll talk about why I feel this episode could still count as horror. So let's dig into Perfect.

The episode starts with Courage screwing various things up. Fixing the car, making food, etc. Anyway Courage begins to feel really down about all his mistakes. I think this is something most of us can relate too. We all screw up occasionally and when those screw ups stack up you just get more and more depressed, and you start beating yourself up. Even when it's a mistake that nobody is really angry at you about. Sure Eustace gets angry at Courage, but he's a douche. When he screws up the cooking though Muriel is completely understanding, yet courage is still saddened by the screw ups. Anyway out of the blue comes some snobby teacher who tries to teach Courage how to be perfect. By the way it's heavily implied that only Courage can see her. That it's all on his head. So Courage gets lessons on being perfect, but because he isn't perfect he begins to fail the class and make the teacher angry. The teacher tells him class is over and to get some sleep as tomorrow's the final exam.....even though tomorrow's only the second day of class, but whatever. Anyway Courage tries to sleep. However it seems he can't even sleep perfectly. Man, doesn't that just make you wanna give him a hug. He is plagued with nonstop nightmares. Including a creepy blue thing (see title card) that whispers "You're not perfect." That seems to be the only reason people actually remember this episode. To be honest that is really the closest thing this episode has to any scares. But Courage was more than just scares. It had emotion, it had comedy. It was more than whatever twisted creation they could think of for that week. Which I guess is one of the main reasons I choose this episode. That and there's a bit of a fear factor here so it still kind of works for Toon-O-Ween. That fear? A fear of yourself. Think about it. In this episode Courage creates a harsh teacher like hallucination to punish himself for not being perfect. Your worst fear really isn't anything else that's been covered during Toon-O-Ween. It's not evil animatronics, it's not ghost, it's not demons. Well...actually it may be. But my worst fear, and I'm sure plenty can agree with this, is myself. I know how to hurt myself, I know how to make myself feel depressed, and most of all I know how to hurt myself. I can really relate to Courage. I too feel down when I screw things up, even if no one is mad at me. I constantly feel pathetic or useless. It's an awful feeling that I'm sure plenty, unfortunately, know too well. So what do I have to say about this? Well I could just say don't worry about it, but that's easier said than done. Just know that everybody messes up, also know that nobody's worthless. We all have our place on this earth for a reason. Try your best to just live life, and if you screw up learn from those mistakes and move on. Anyway sorry for the melodrama. Just something I had to get off my chest. I've seen a rise in people complaining about how much life sucks, and how much they feel awful about themselves. Heck I've recently kind of fallen into the same rut myself. I talk a lot about the past don't I? Well, it's only because the past is where the most regrets are found. Anyway sorry. But man for a children's cartoon this show got me into a rather deep topic didn't it. And yet there's still people out there saying animation is just for young kids. Back to the episode though. Eustace gets annoyed at Courage and throws him out of the room. The next day Courage is tired and has his final exam. He's allowed time before the exam though to brush his teeth. While in there the fish he tried to cook earlier in the episode comes to talk to him. Saying he isn't perfect. But in a way so that it sounds like an OK thing to be. So what is Courage's final exam. Drawing a perfect 6. He of course doesn't draw a perfect six, but does something really neat and creative. And so our episode ends with the teacher melting, because......uh......she's evil.
This episode is pretty good. Especially the moral. Don't try to be perfect. You'll only end up hurting yourself even worse. Just get over the fear you have of yourself and love yourself. Of course that is easier said than done. There are people in such a rut that it could take months, even years to pull themselves out of it and get better. And that's just extremely unfortunate. Hopefully anyone in that state will get to felling better soon. Just know, if you are one of those people, you can't give up.
Other than that this episode has some pretty funny moments here and there and some good looking animation. Don't forget relateable and likeable characters. My one complaint is kind of odd, but it's Courage's scream. He does it way too much and it gets a bit grading. Especially during that nightmare scene. Anyway I think this is a great episode through and through. No doubt about it. This show still holds up. Now I just need to re-watch a bunch if other episodes. Maybe instead of Powerpuff Month I could do a Courage Month in 2017. Hmm....I'll think about it.
Overall good episode. A check in every area except for sound, which got a -. Mostly because of Courage's constant screaming, but also because the soundtrack in this episode isn't the most memorable. So that's that. Well we only have one Toon-O-Ween left. This one was rather serious so I think next time we'll have some fun. Next time let's watch some Pokémon. I'll see you guys then.

Kevin: "So you have to return to school today?"

Evan: "Yep, and on Halloween no less. It ticks me off."

Kevin: "I didn't think you were even trick-or-treating."

Evan: "I'm not, but I still just want to enjoy the spirit of the holiday without having to stress about how to factor complex numbers, or what the definition of Papillon is."

Kevin: "A Papillon is a dog breed. There, one less thing you have to worry about."

Evan: "Jeez, thanks Kevin."

Kevin: "Always happy to help."

Evan: "Oh, while you're here I have something to ask you."

Kevin: "What is it?"

Evan: "It's about Daniel."

Kevin: "The ghost?"

Evan: "Yeah. I want to ask if you know his brother. Like if he's a fellow Guardian Angel or something."

Kevin: "He could be, but I don't know. I could always find out. The divine spirits keep a record of all the Guardian Angels."

Evan: "Cool. But if he's not a Guardian Angel then what else could he be."

Kevin: "He could also just choose to live the rest of his life in the spirit realm without the responsibility of watching over someone for their entire life. In which case there's a record on those guys as well. "

Evan: "And if not that?"

Kevin: "Then he's either facing eternal punishment or he decided to live out his spirit days on Earth. In either case he's gonna be almost impossible to find."

Evan: "Dang. Well let's hope it's not either of those two options. Well, I have to go to school now. See ya."

Kevin: "See Ya."

Quick Thoughts #14-Flip Flappers Episodes 2+3

So episode 1 of Flip Flappers was really good, and left me with a lot of questions. I feel like it was the start of something special though.  Let's hope this continues as we dig into episode 2 of Flip Flappers.....and 3 because I fell behind schedule.

Episode 2 is called Pure Converter. Oh and I'm warning you now there's spoilers.
The episode begins with Cocona waking up. Her glasses are fixed and her grandma is just sitting there like she was watching her sleep. Remember how in the post credits scene of episode 1 Cocona and Papika got kidnapped by some strange, unknown organization. Well apparently this episode takes place after that, and Cocona thinks it was all just a dream. It's kind of confusing, like I had to make sure I didn't accidently skip to episode 3. After you figure that out it's not really confusing at all. I really hope in one of the future episodes they show what went down with that mysterious organization. Heck it might even be the next one (I don't know, as of this writing I haven't seen episode 3). Anyway Cocona runs into Papika once again, but she tries to avoid her. That becomes hard to do as Papika becomes a transfer student at her school. It seems Papika is really wanting to go on another adventure. Cocona continues to give her the cold shoulder though and with the help of her friend, Yayaka. Yayaka is Cocona's childhood friend. So far she doesn't have much personality, but she does seem a bit jealous of Papika and protective of Cocona. I'm gonna theorize she may have a crush on Cocona. That or she looks at her as a sister. We also get introduced to Uexkull, a green bunny like thing. It's frankly kinda adorable and Cocona seems to really like him. Uexkull is also afraid of Papika, and that may be because she looks like she's gonna eat him every time she sees him. While Cocona is looking at a piece of art in the hallway, an art club student offers Cocona to visit the art club. During this event Papika also runs into Cocona (who had Uexkull in her bag). Uexkull runs away and Cocona and Papika go chase him. Uexkull runs into another portal to Pure Illusion. That's when Cocona finally breaks and gives Papika a reason you suck speech.
She calls her careless and says she has no sense of danger. She does however get emotional when she talks about how she was worried Papika was dead in the last episode. It's kind of a sweet scene. Papika sees Cocona is sad and tries to find Uexkull in the portal. They both somehow get sucked in. The portal is a hole by the way. So their chasing a rabbit down a hole in a reference to Alice in Wonderland. There's apparently a lot of genius bonus references like this hidden in the show that I'm probably gonna miss. In fact apparently Uexkull is a reference to Jakob von Uexküll, a German biologist who worked in the field of animal behaviour studies.
He's not as cute as his anime bunny counterpart, but I will admit he's one handsome gentlemen.

I love the animation here in this Pure Illusion world. It's hard to describe. The closest word I can think of is psychedelic. In this world Cocona and Papika turn into human-bunny hybrids with an obsession for biting random things. Cocona goes to find Uexkull and Papika looks for the fragment. Oh yeah, the fragments. We finally find out what their purpose is. The fragments are mysterious diamond like
objects just like the one Cocona found in the last episode. If you find them all any wish you want is granted. Kind of like the Dragon Balls. Anyway Cocona stumbles upon a machine in her search and gets the sudden urge to bite it. She turns it on unfourtenetly. It's some kind of giant fan that's leaving cuts all over Cocona. Luckily though Papika finds another fragment and sees Cocona's in danger. Cocona is saved first though by Uexkull who is more human like. He's kind of like one of those dark, bruting heroes you see in comics, similar to Batman. Anyway they end up locked in a cage about to be plummeted into lava. Papika saves them both though and we get a rather intense scene with Papika in a magical girl like state (kind of like the one Cocona was in during episode 1) trying to get Cocona and Bunny-Man out of the machine. They end up back in their world and in their normal forms. Papika apologizes for the situation, as she now understands where Cocona was coming from earlier, saying she felt worried that Cocona was about to die. Cocona on the other hand said the adventure was fun (especially the magical girl part) and says she'll go on more adventures with Papika in the future. Though only when she feels like it. Yayaka by the way is watching all this happen from behind a tree. Anyway the episode ends with Papika introducing Cocona to the rest of the organization that she works with. Flip Flap. Including the mysterious Dr. Salt who doesn't give any answer when Cocona asks why he needs the Fragments. He just warns them to always keep one on them at all times. They then go into a machine that will send them to another Pure Illusion world. Both of them holding each other's hand.
That was a nice episode. The Pure Illusion world they visited was interesting, and we got to see a bond begin to grow between Cocona and Papika, which is nice to see. I like the heartwarming moments the two share, including holding hands near the end. I got most of my questions from episode 1 answered and this episode only continues growing the world the show takes place in, and it's just getting me more and more invested into it. Uexkull is also fricking adorable. The episode even flushed out Papika and Cocona's personality a bit more. This was just a fun episode in general. I'm hooked on this show now. So what are you waiting for. We still have another episode to watch. Episode 3, Pure XLR.
So this episode begins with Papika walking alone in a dessert, looking for Cocona. She eventually faints due to lack of water, but is picked up by a mysterious race of creatures. Their fricking tiny compared to Papika. As such they get scared and lock her up. One of them doesn't seem to find her scary though so she lets Papika free. She also seems to be a bit on the timid side. She gives Papika some water, but only a little. She later explains that they're severely lacking in water and as thus have to be very conservative with it. That's when a vicious gang starts attacking. They waste a lot of the town's water and almost kill someone. He would've been killed if Papika didn't stop them. These guys, for a minute, are really the first major threat we've seen in this series. I say for a minute because once the real threat of the episode is shown they becom kinda pansy-ish. The leader of said group of pansies is...Cocona.
DUN DUN DUUUUUUN!!!
Yeah there's quiet a few good Holy Crap moments in this episode.
So Cocona (who's wearing a weird helmet) and Papika fight. It's a pretty cool fight scene. A little too frantic for my taste, but still well animated and exciting. Apparently this whole episode, especially this fight, is one big reference to Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. Anyway Papika thinks that this can't be Cocona, however as the fight goes on she comes to the realization it is. She then tells Cocona that she hates her. Eventually Papika passes out and the mask on Cocona's head breaks. She then sees what has happened. Apparently the mask was taking control of her mind. She sees that she hurt Papika and begins to feel sorry. That's when the true enemy is revealed. You known that cute, timid girl that freed Papika. She was the true villain in disguise.
DUN DUN DUUUUUUUN!!!
She's really some sort of demon that's completely colored black. She begins to tell Cocona that the helmet brings out your true emotions. Meaning that deep down she really did want to hurt Papika.....and I guess also waste the precious resources of a poor desert village.
Also if this helmet thing is true then it'd be understandable. I mean she could still possibly hold a bit of a grudge towards Papika for all the annoyance from the last episode. But this moment is legitimately kinda tense and does add some character to Cocona and sets up what I hope will be her little character arc. So Papika eventually wakes up and the two use their fragments to transform into magical girls. Yes there's even a little transformation sequence. I hope that isn't in every episode like almost every other magical anime does. I mean they can be cool every once in a while. But every episode.....it just gets strenuous. But yeah they have magical girl powers now. Cocona becomes Pure Blade and Papika becomes Pure Barrier. And despite just accessing these new powers they're instantly experts when it comes to using them. OK yes they did transform in the previous two episodes, but they didn't do much with the transformations powers, they especially didn't fight with them. Unless they used them when captured by that mysterious agency in between episodes 1 and 2. But that wouldn't make since as Papika only got her fragment in episode 2. Well whatever. Still a decent action scene. They even apologize for the fight from earlier and Papika also apologizes for saying she hated her.
So they beat her first form, but she has a second. They can't beat that one however. Instead another group of people come in. Who is their leader? Yayaka!
DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN!!!
So Yayaka's gang defeats the monster and takes its fragment. Papika tries to chase after them through their portal, but it only leads her to their headquarters, where she probably doesn't want to be. Papika and Cocona eventually leave through their portal. The other workers at Flip Flap discuss what just happened. Saying they're (Yayaka's clan) now coming directly at them. Meanwhile Cocona looks depressed about the whole situation. The episode ends with a post credits sequence where Cocona realizes how late it is and rushes home. Her grandmother telling her that if she's going to be this late again to call.

So that's episode 3. It was still pretty good. The desert is most certainly the least interesting of the 3 Pure Illusions world's we've seen, but this episode is where the plot really begins to thicken and actually get somewhere. It was a very exciting, still fun episode. With more than one holy crap moment. My biggest complaint is Yayaka. She was bland before, but I was hoping she would eventually develop. Well now she has a personality. It's just incredibly cliche. She's now the toughened military like expert on everything going down that messes with our heroes cause their not as good, or are naive. Yayaka kinda sucks. I am hoping we see a flashback eventually to how her and Cocona met, as I feel that may add a lot more depth to both characters and allow us to see why they cared for each other so much. And why Yayaka being with Flip Flap's rivals is such a big deal. The villains seem like they could be cool though. The villains appear to be some kind of clan and I'm legitimately curious about what their motives and goals could be. Also they dress like the KKK for some reason.

Overall good episode.

As you can see both episodes get checks all around. Yayaka is also the worst part for both of these episodes....hmmmm.

Well 3 down 10 to go. Yeah Flip Flappers is apparently going to be just 13 episodes. I was hoping for more, but hey if they only need 13 then that's all they need. Anyway I have to play a lot of catch up on other things so I'll see you guys later.
Peace.

.....
Evan: "You know I never even took a look in this thing myself."

Daniel: "Do you want to look?"

Evan: "Yeah that'd be nice. I mean after all it's for those who can see the unseeable not for the unseeable them self."

Daniel: "That's a good enough point."

Evan: "What's with all this paper."

Daniel: "It's some drawings my brother made. He was an inspiring artist."

Evan: "Really now?"

Evan: "uhhhh..."

Daniel: "I know it's awful. He was only five."

Evan: "Ah, OK. It seems to have taken some wear and tear from over the centuries."

Daniel: "Yeah. He made that one night. We both couldn't sleep so we went outside and looked at the stars. It's probably one of my greatest memories with him. We didn't talk much, but I realized how much he and I were alike, in our love of nature, in our love for the night sky, in the way our imaginations just run wild. I also realized how much I actually wanted to be there for him."

Evan: "Goodbye?"

Daniel: "I think he made that after mine and my sister's death. Our death happened pretty close to each other."

Evan: "How'd your sister die?"

Daniel: "She was hung. Accused of being a witch."

Evan: "You mean like, during the Salem Witch Trials?"

Daniel: "You know about the witch trials?"

Evan: "Yeah, they teach it at school. You know it's weird how only your sister is smiling in this drawing."

Daniel: "I didn't smile much. It became somewhat of a joke in our family. My sister though, she was well known in town for her beautiful smile. Seeing her smile always made my day. It was a flawless smile."

Evan: "Man, that must be one great smile. Is it as good as Chip Skylark's."

Daniel: "Who?"

Evan: "It's a reference you won't get. Wait....is this a rock?"

Daniel: "It's our pet. My brother found him. It looks like it has eyes so he thought it was alive. He was about 3 or so. We named him rock."

Evan: "Man, people in the 1400s were just filled with so much creativity."

Daniel: "Shut up it was my brothers idea."

Evan: "I'm just snarking with you. Wait, What's this?"
Daniel: "There's an old legend our mother use to tell us. The Paper Star. If you can collect all the pieces of it and put it together then you can grant any wish. My brother found that one day in the field. I thought it was fake, but he persisted it was real and had a dream of finding the rest."

Evan: "Interesting. Well considering how weird my life has been getting, what with the talking Pokemon plush and guardian angel and now you, I wouldn't be so surprised if this legend turned out to be true. So...any wish?"

Daniel: "That's what the legend says."

Evan: "I might be able to get a girlfriend. Ha, that's probably beyond this thing's powers."

Daniel: "If you ask me I'd aim a bit higher than getting a girlfriend. But that's just my silly opinion. Well, I'm going to go lie down."

Evan: "Ghost can sleep?"

Daniel: "No, but lying down is still comfortable."

Evan: "Fair enough.
Hmmmmmm.....so any wish granted. Kinda like the fragments in Flip Flappers. It's weird how frequently what I'm reviewing coincides with the things going on in my life. Wait there's a note here. "
"For Daniel and his sister. John? That must be his brother's name. I probably should see if Daniel has read this.
Daniel!"
.....
Daniel: "Dear God, I know I've been very sinful, and you may not accept my apology. I just have one request though. I want to see my brother again. If....if you don't want to grant me said request can I at least ask that you'll take care of him and he'll be OK. I pray he lived a good life, and I pray that he's living an even better life up there with you. Please, he hasn't done anything wrong. I beg of you. Amen."
........
.......
Evan: *sigh* "We really need to find his brother, and soon."
